'''AMOS HOFER'''

Amos Hofer was the youngest son of John J. A. and Elizabeth Hofer. He was born Feb. 23, 1920, near Dolton, S.D. He died June 1, 1992, at Bridgewater, S. D., in his home of a heart attack.

He was baptized in 1937 and became a member of the Hutterthal Mennonite Church of Freeman, S. D., where he remained a member until his death. In 1942 he worked in Civilian Public Service in Colorado Springs, Colo., and then for one year in LaPine, Ore. He also worked at the Southern Wisconsin Colony for Retarded Children near Union Grove, Wis., for two years.

He married Rebecca Gross of Carpenter, S.D., on Sept. 17, 1944. They farmed for 44 years south of Bridgewater, S.D. He was semi-retired for the past few years.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; three daughters, Letha Glanzer and her husband, Donald, of Bridgewater, Bonita of Springfield, S.D., and Rhonda Nielsen and her husband, David, of Viborg, S.D.; six grandchildren and two brothers, John E. and David L. Hofer of Dolton, S.D.

Funeral services were held June 4 at Hutterthal Mennonite Church with Kenneth Peterson officiating.
