'''Gottshall.''' — Moses C. Gottshall, son of the late Rev. Moses and Hannah (Clemens) Gottshall, was born in Montgomery Co., Pa., on December 6, 1853. On March 28, 1869, he was baptized and received into the membership of Eden Mennonite church, and has since been an active and faithful member. He united in marriage with Anna K. Stauffer July 14, 1877. This union was blessed with 14 children of whom there are 4 sons and 5 daughters to survive him. After an illness of one week he died on March 8, 1918, aged 64 years, 3 months and 2 days. Brother Gottshall has been the honored deacon of the Eden church for the past 32 years, and for 24 years teacher of the German Bible class in the Sunday school. His life has been a busy and active one, and his activities were not confined to the local church. He has been one of the active workers in the Eastern conference, and since the founding he has been a member of the board of managers of the Mennonite Home for the aged, and for several years the president of the board. He was held in high esteem and respect by all who knew him. He will be missed everywhere, but what is our loss is his eternal gain. Funeral services were held in Eden Mennonite church on March 13, conducted by Rev. W. H. Grubb, assisted by Revs. N. B. Grubb. R. F. Landis, D. J. Brandt, Jacob Snyder, A. M. Fretz and N. F. Schmidt. The large church was filled to its utmost capacity. There were in attendance 14 ministers.
