&amp;lt;center&amp;gt;&amp;lt;h3&amp;gt;KATHERINE BERGMANN&amp;lt;/h3&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/center&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Katherina Bergmann of Coaldale, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Apr. 30. She was born Oct. 31,&lt;br /&gt;
1897 to Frank and Maria Born in&lt;br /&gt;
Gnadenheim, southern Russia. Much of her&lt;br /&gt;
childhood and youth were spent in&lt;br /&gt;
Schoensee, Molotschna. Here she accepted&lt;br /&gt;
Christ, was baptized and joined the MB&lt;br /&gt;
church. Shortly after, on Oct. 25, 1925, she&lt;br /&gt;
married Henry Bergmann. During World&lt;br /&gt;
War II they fled to Poland.&lt;br /&gt;
They were retaken by the&lt;br /&gt;
Russians and deported to&lt;br /&gt;
Siberia with 3 of their 4&lt;br /&gt;
children. In February, 1968&lt;br /&gt;
Henry died. In June, 1969&lt;br /&gt;
she came to Coaldale, where&lt;br /&gt;
she joined Coaldale MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church. She was cared for&lt;br /&gt;
by her sister Margaret. Her&lt;br /&gt;
life exemplified &amp;quot;I have kept&lt;br /&gt;
the faith.&amp;quot; She spent much time reading the&lt;br /&gt;
Bible and singing spiritual songs. She loved&lt;br /&gt;
Christian poetry and often recited selections&lt;br /&gt;
in church services. Predeceased by her&lt;br /&gt;
husband, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, 3 children in&lt;br /&gt;
infancy and 3 grandchildren, she is survived&lt;br /&gt;
by her children Henry of Coaldale and Frank,&lt;br /&gt;
Peter and Mary Heier of the U.S.S.R.; 16&lt;br /&gt;
grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2&lt;br /&gt;
sisters. The funeral was May 2 in Coaldale&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, with Nick Reimer and Rudy&lt;br /&gt;
Heidebrecht ministering.&lt;br /&gt;
