She was born<br /> July I, 1898 in Alfons, Poland to Henry and<br /> Maria (Witzke) Jantz. Her father died when<br /> she was nine and her mother passed away 11<br /> years later. She had three brothers and three<br /> sisters, all of whom predeceased her. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour<br /> at an early age and was always known as a<br /> happy Christian.<br /> In 1919 she was<br /> baptized and accepted into the<br /> Wymyschle Mennonite Brethren<br /> Church in central<br /> Poland. She used<br /> her gifts in music<br /> to serve the Lord .~~.....,<br /> both at home and<br /> in church. In 1926<br /> she married Rudolf<br /> Bartel, a union _______<br /> blessed with five healthy children. She was<br /> predeceased by her husband in 1974 and a<br /> son, Richard, in 1979. Surviving are Reinhold<br /> of Winnipeg, Edward of Lethbridge, Hulda<br /> (Mrs. W.) Engel of Calgary, and Minna (Mrs.<br /> D.) Wilkins of Clearbrook, B.C.; as well as 14<br /> grandchildren and one great grandson.
