John Martens died
Feb . 21 in his sleep. He
was born July 9, 1918
in Warman, Sask . He
moved to Manitoba
as a teenager to find
employment. For the
majority of his work-
ing years, he farmed
near Kleefeld. He also worked at Pioneer Electric
in Winnipeg and Keystone Hatchery in Niver-
ville. John had a strong work ethic. He enjoyed
good health most of his life, but suffered several
strokes in later years and had to move to a nurs-
ing home. He enjoyed watching his grandchil-
dren and great-grandchildren grow up, watch-
ing WWF wrestling, and playing guitar. John was
a quiet, private man, and liked to be punctual.
Predeceased by 2 sisters; 4 brothers; 2 grand-
children; he is mourned by Katherine, his wife
of 61 years; children Ed (Tina), Irene (Dan) Pauls,
Walter (Sandra), Harold (Kathy), Art (Carol), and
Val; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
