FRIEDA WIENS

Frieda (Enns) Wiens, 92, of Beatrice, Neb., died May 29, 1997, at the Beatrice Manor. She was born Sept. 23, 1904, in Marion County, Kan., and raised on a farm seven miles northwest of Hillsboro, Kan. She attended Hillsboro bible Academy and Bethel Academy in North Newton, Kan.

She married Gerhard Paul Wiens on May 27, 1927, at Johannestal Mennonite Church near Hillsboro. They made their home on a farm a little west of Beatrice. In 1939 they moved to a farm two miles north of Ellis, Neb. In 1966 they retired from farming and moved to Beatrice.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Beatrice, a Ladies Mission Circle, taught Sunday school and served on the Hospital Sewing Committee as well as other church-related committees. She enjoyed planning and attending family gatherings, especially wedding anniversaries, including her 70th.

Surviving are her husband, Gerhard; two daughters, Mary Ann Rodriguez of Tampa, Fla., and Clarene Seemann and husband Ron of St. Paul, Minn., two sons, Michael and wife Isa and Myron and wife Kathy, all of Lincoln, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Orland Enns of Hillsboro.

Funeral services were held at First Mennonite Church of Beatrice. Burail was in the church cemetery.
