A. T. WIENS

Abraham T. Wiens, son of Henry and Maria Thiessen Wiens, was born on Oct. 3, 1896 near Inman, Kan.

He was baptized by Elder Klaus Kroeker on Sept. 26, 1915, and received into the Bethel Mennonite Church.

On June 2, 1920, he was married to Sara Regehr. In 1924 they moved to a farm south of Meade, Kan. where father farmed till his retirement. On May 20, 1963, mother was called home to be with the Lord.

On Aug. 30, 1964, he was married to Mrs. Selma Schmidt Gaeddert. In December of 1965 they moved to Inman, where he resided until his death.

He was a member of the E.M.B. Church at Meade for many years. He served the Lord faithfully as a Sunday school teacher at Meade and also later at the Bethel Church in Inman.

Dad became ill in October, 1967. From this time on his health failed rapidly. He entered Moundridge Hospital on Sunday, April 7, 1968, and the Lord called him to his heavenly home early Tuesday morning, April 9, 1968. He reached the age of 71 years, six months, and six days.

He leaves to mourn: his wife, Mrs. Selma Wiens; the children, George Raymond, William Richard, Mrs. Paul (Mary Ann) Westfahl, Mrs. Harold (Helen Erma) Janzen, Walter Ralph, Mrs. Dan (Alice Pearl) Schroeder, James Gaeddert, and Mrs. Austin (Gladys) Havens, and their companions; 24 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.
