Attica, Kan. — David Troyer, well-known retired farmer here, died Sunday, July 11, at the age of 86. A native of Middlebury, Ind., he had lived here for the past 50 years.
Survivors include his widow, Katie, one daughter, three sons and 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services were announced for Wednesday forenoon at the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church, Rev. Alvin Kaufman officiating.

DAVID TROYER
David Troyer, son of Noah D. and Elizabeth (Bontrager) Troyer, was born April 6, 1874, near Nappanee, Lagrange County, Ind. He departed this life at his home on July 10, 1960, aged 86 years, three months, four days, after an illness of over two years.
In 1904 he came to the Crystal Springs, Kan. community where he resided until his death. In his youth he was actively engaged in riding the range and helping drive cattle from Cherokee, Okla. to Abilene, Kansas.
He was married to Katie Reber on Dec. 10, 1908. To this union were born three sons and one daughter.
In the spring of 1908 he united with the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church, where he was a faithful member the remaining years of his life.
Surviving him are his wife, Katie; three sons, La Vern of Rago, Kan., Virgil and David, both of Hutchinson, Kan.; one daughter, Velma (Mrs. Virgil Schmidt) of Hesston, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; one brother, Noah, of Glen Carbon, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Maude) Griffin and Mrs. Mamie Cummins of Mio, Mich. and Mrs. Mahala Boyts of Crystal Springs, Kan.; and a host of relatives and friends. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The family will cherish with deep appreciation the memory of his kindness and love as a father and grandfather.
Funeral services were held in the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church on July 13 at 10 a.m. Officiating ministers were Rev. Alvin Kauffman of Crystal Springs and Rev. M. A. Yodler of Hesston, Kan. Interment was made in the Crystal Springs cemetery. — Mrs. Katie Troyer and Family.
