Killed When Car Leaves Highway

Goshen, Ind. — An auto accident near White Pigeon, Mich., on Jan 13 resulted in the instant death of Harold LeRoy Swartzendruber, 27, of Middlebury. He was a passenger in a car with Charles Holm and Mrs. Holm, who was driving, when it left the road and overturned. A heavy fog was believed to be the cause of the accident.

Funeral services were held Jan 16 at the Middlebury Church of the Brethren, Rev. T. G. Weaver and Rev. Harold Yoder officiating

Mr. Swartzendruber, who had ben [sic] employed at a Middlebury lumber yard, is survived by his parents, John E. and Ruth Esch Swartzendruber, two brothers Mervin and Paul, and one sister, Edna. The family formerly lived near Emma, in Lagrange county.
