AMISH LAD BREAKS THROUGH ICE ON FARM POND AND DROWNS
Paradise, Pa. — Tragedy struck the David Stoltzfus family of the Honey Brook vicinity Jan. 22 when the 11-year-old son, Mahlon Stoltzfus, drowned in an ice-covered farm pond.
When it was discovered that the youth was missing, his father went immediately to the pond, only to find that he had broken through the ice and drowned. He summoned aid to help remove the body. It is believed the boy had gone tautest the ice for skating.
