MRS. ALICE REIMER

(Mrs.) Alice Reimer, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Martens, was born on December 2, 1904 in Blumenau, Russia. In 1923 the Martens family emigrated to Canada, residing briefly in Saskatchewan and later in Manitoba. While in Saskatchewan she became a Christian and was baptized and received into the Whitewater Mennonite Brethren Church.

On October 25, 1925 she married Jacob J. Reimer in Winkler, Manitoba. The couple farmed in Mountainside, Manitoba and two daughters and a son were born to them. In 1942 Mrs. Reimer's husband passed away in Winnipeg. She then moved to Vineland, Ontario with her children, where she provided for them through much hard work in fruit farming until retiring in 1958. During semi-retirement she kept busy with her grandchildren, reading, sewing and gardening. She was a true prayer warrior and loved the church.

After many years of suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and other health problems, the Lord called her home on March 26 following a brief stay in hospital because of a heart attack. Rev. Isaac Block officiated at a funeral service at the Vineland church on March 29.

She leaves to mourn her two daughters, Susan and Anne (Mrs. Victor) Baerg; one son, Edward, all of Vineland, five grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
