ERNST A. PETERS

Ernst Peters, son of Abraham and Anna Enz Peters, was born Nov. 21, 1892 in Newton, Kan. In 1901 the family moved from Newton to a farm northwest of Walton. Later the family moved to a farm a mile farther south.

On Dec. 26, 1918, he was united in marriage to Hermina Schmidt. They lived all their married life on the farm where his parents had lived when they first moved to the country. He died on Dec. 6, 1959.

He is survived by his widow; five sons, Harold, of the home, Alfred and Louise (Waner) Peters of Wichita, Irvin and Irma (Woelk) Peters of Newton, Eldo of rural Newton, Edwin and Evelyn (Regehr) Peters of Elkhart, Ind.; five grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, John E. of Newton, Herman J. and Arthur H. of rural Walton, Mrs. J. I. Schroeder, Miss Martha Peters, and Mrs. Herman S. Janzen of Newton.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Abraham of Pratt, Kan., and a sister Margaret who died in infancy, and four grandchildren.

He was baptized on May 15, 1910, by Elder Jacob Toews and joined the First Mennonite church of Newton. Later he transferred his membership to the Tabor Mennonite church, and still later to the Walton Mennonite church.

He was a good father and husband and concerned about the spiritual welfare of his children. He was much interested in church work. During his last sickness, he said he had lived a good life and God had been good to him. — The Family.
