PHILIP A. LANGENWALTER

Philip August Langenwalter was born April 12, 1879, at Halstead, Kan. to Daniel and Christina Langenwalter. He attended the Halstead Mennonite Church, and was baptized there by Rev. Christian Krehbiel.

He was married to Frieda Ida Auernheimer on March 28, 1906, in the Auernheimer family home at Halstead. His older brother, Rev. J. H. Langenwalter, performed the ceremony. They lived in Kansas six years, and came to California in 1912, settling near Tulare. They farmed until they came to Paso Robles in 1930, where they lived until his death. He passed away on May 21, 1970 at the age of 91 years.

He was active in the church in various ways and served on the church board. He especially enjoyed teaching a Sunday school class and singing. He was faithful in church attendance all his life and attended church services within a few weeks before he passed away. Bible reading and prayer were enjoyed daily in the home.

He is survived by his wife Frieda; three sons Earl, Alvin, and Paul, and two daughters, Gertrude Stonebrook and Edna Heer; and six brothers.
