MOUNTAIN LAKE MAN DIES AT HIS HOME ON EASTER MORNING

Mountain Lake, Minn. — John Jungas, Sr., prominent in business and community life here for many years, died suddenly on Easter morning, April 21, at his home as he was making the usual preparations to teach his Sunday School class at the Bethel Mennonite church.

Funeral services took place on Friday afternoon, April 26, with Rev. Erland Waltner officiating. Business places were closed from 1:30 to 3:30 in respect to Mr. Junges [sic Jungas], who had been in the hardware business here for 49 years.

The deceased was born in Tessendorf, Germany, on May 3, 1870, and accompanied his family to Mountain Lake in 1892. He started in business for himself, repairing bicycles and shoes, and later expanded into the hardware business. He was active in civic and church affairs, serving on the village council and as president of the First National Bank.
