MRS. SUSIE H. JANZEN

Mrs. Susie H. Reimer Janzen, daughter of Dietrich and Susanna Schroeder Reimer, was born Feb. 7, 1889, in Marion County near Goessel, Kansas. She passed away March 16, 1956, at the age of 67 years, one month and 14 days.

She was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Rev. Henry Riesen in 1910 and received into the membership of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church at Gotebo, Okla. Having her home locations changed resulted in memberships at the West Zion Mennonite Church of Moundridge, the Tabor Mennonite Church near Goessel, and since 1936, the Goessel Mennonite Church where she was a member at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Henry P. Janzen on Feb. 8, 1919. They made their home on a farm south of Goessel, sharing joys and sorrows for only 11 years, as on Oct. 4, 1930, the husband and father passed away. In 1932 the family moved to Goessel and since 1945 have lived in Newton. She was a conscientious mother who took great interest in her children and grandchild.

Although she enjoyed good health most of her life, during the last few years there were periodic times when her health was failing. On March 8 she was admitted to the hospital and on the morning of March 17 she suffered a heart attack and passed away at 2 o'clock that afternoon.

She leaves to mourn her departure a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Brunner of Emporia; a son, Ernest Willard Janzen of the home; a grandchild; three step-children, John H. Janzen and Mrs. Dora Huff of Tulsa, and Ella Janzen of Potwin; a brother, Dietrich D. Reimer of Newton; three half-brothers and three half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Martens of Hinton, Okla., Herman Kliewer of Moundridge, Mrs. Bertha Warkentine of Inman, Mrs Margaret Banman of Canton, Jack Kliewer of Great Bend, and Arthur Kliewer of Chino, Calif. A sister Mrs. Lizzie Wiens, preceded her in death.
