Retired Farmer Dies While Mowing Lawn

Kalona, Iowa. — A heart attack suffered while mowing lawn at his home in Kalona on Sept. 17 proved fatal to Ray V. Hochstetler, 54, retired farmer here.

Mr. Hochstetler was born near here, and farmed northwest of Kalona until February of this year when he moved to Kalona. He is survived by his wife, the former Maggie Fisher, one daughter, three sons, five grandchildren, and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 20 at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.
