MILFORD, NEBRASKA FARMER DIES

Milford, Neb. — David Hershberger, Sr., a farmer in this community throughout his life, died at the Seward hospital March 9 at the age of 68.

He was a member of the East Fairview Mennonite church, where the funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon. His wife, three daughters and four sons survive.

DAVID HERSHBERGER, SR.

David Hershberger, Sr., was born to A. P. and Sarah (Stutzman) Hershberger on March 23, 1891 at Milford, Neb., died March 9, 1960 at the Seward Memorial hospital of a heart condition, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 15 days.

At the age of 19 he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and was baptized and accepted as a member into the fellowship of the East Fairview Mennonite church of which he was a faithful member. He attended regularly as long and as often as health permitted.

On Jan. 14, 1915, he was married to Anna B. Stauffer of Seward, Nebr., who survives. Also surviving are four sons and three daughters, Harlan and Roy of Milford, Reaford of Keswick, Ia., David, Jr., of Beaver Crossing, Kathryn (Mrs. Elwin Friesen) of Henderson, Mary (Mrs. Gerald Stutzman) of Friend, and Phyllis (Mrs. Dale Philson) of Milford, 19 grandchildren; four brothers, Ammon of Corry, Pa., Allen of Albany, Ore., Paul of Wellman, three sisters, Iva (Mrs. Will Hauder and Lucinda (Mrs. Chris Earnest) of Kalona, Ia.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the East Fairview Mennonite church, in charge of Ammon Miller, Oliver Roth and Sterling U. Stauffer. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

He was noted for his honestly and integrity, and always stressed these three things to his family: to be honest, and to love, and to forgive as Christ forgave us.

On an. [sic Jan.] 14, 1915, he was united in marriage to Anna B. Stauffer of Seward, Nebr., who survives him. Also surviving are four sons and three daughters, Harlan and Roy of Miford; Reaford of Keswick, Ia.; David Jr. of Beaver Crossing; Kathryn (Mrs. Elwin Friesen) of Henderson; Mary (Mrs. Gerald Stutzman) of Friend; and Phyllis (Mrs. Dale Philson) of Milford; 19 grandchildren; four brothers, Ammon of Corry, Pa., Allen of Albany, Ore., Paul of Wellman, Ia., and Ezra of Goshen, Ind.; three sisters, Iva (Mrs. Will Hauder) and Lavina Rediger of Milford, and Lucinda (Mrs. Chris Earnest) of Kalona, Ia.
