He was married to Magdalena Elise Krehbiel on February 6, 1887, who preceded him in death March 10, 1949. To this union were born seven children. Clara and Eddie preceded him in death. Surviving are Elmer, Arnold and Mrs. Ella Miller of Fairview, Mich., William and Oliver of Mio, Mich. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters.

In 1907 he, with his family, moved to Oscoda county, Mich., near Mio, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was sick only five days.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour in early life and remained faithful until death. He was a loving husband and father, always willing to help wherever he could. He longed for the day when he could go Home.

Funeral services were held at the Fairview Mennonite church, with Bro. Menno Esch and Bro. Mose Steiner in charge.
