LOIS RUTH DYCK

Lois Ruth Dyck was born January 31, 1957 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India, the daughter of missionary parents, Jacob and Helen Dyck. She appeared to be a normal child, but already in the first month of her life she showed symptons of suffering from hydrocephalus, a disease which caused her head to take on an abnormal shape. After caring for her at home as long as they could her parents returned her to a hospital in India. Later, in 1958, she was returned to Canada and admitted to Woodland Hospital, New Westminster, B.C., where she received wonderful care and treatment for the rest of her short life.

On October 3, 1965, Lois went to be with the Lord, at the age of eight years and eight months. The family rejoices in the thought of a reunion someday and finds comfort in the words: "This also cometh from the Lord of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel and excellent in working" (Isaiah 28:29). She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Sharon and Adeline; one brother, Paul in India; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dyck of Oliver, B.C. and Mr.and Mrs. Isaac Toews of Clearbrook. The funeral was conducted in the Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Abbotsford, on October 7 with Rev. N. Dyck in charge.
