JOHN CULLAR

John Cullar, son of Jonas and Rebecca Lehman Cullar, was born Dec.23, 1894, in Beaver Township, Ohio; died Thursday morning, Jan. 8, 1959, at the South Side Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, of a cerebral hemorrhage after an illness of a week, aged 64 years and 16 days.

In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the Midway Mennonite church, remaining faithful until death.

On Nov. 2, 1922, he was united in marriage to Rena Metzler. To this union were born three children; a daughter Ardith, Mrs. Arthur Blosser of Columbiana; two sons, John Allen and Harrold [sic Harold] E. Cullar, both of North Lima, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, the three children, one brother Elmer Cullar of Columbiana, Ohio, and seven grandchildren. One grandson preceded him in death.

Mr. Cullar was an active member of the church, serving as church treasurer for a number of years, and assisting in whatever capacity he could.

He operated a greenhouse and vegetable farm for many years at his home. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Beaver Ruritan club, and the Ohio Vegetables Grower Association.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Midway Mennonite Church in charge of Paul Yoder and Ernest Martin. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
