Coming to Hesston from Tofield, Alberta, he and his wife lived in retirement for the past several years, though they made frequent trips to their former home in Canada and he maintained a strong interest in the affairs of school and church.

He was born near Wellesley, Ontario, Dec. 10, 1876. For a time he lived at Milford, Nebr., but moved to Alberta in 1913. Cause of his death was noninfectious meningitis, which resulted from ear trouble with which he became afflicted several weeks ago.

The services at Hesston were conducted by Bishop Milo Kauffman, who was assisted by Rev. Jess Kauffman, pastor of the Hesston congregation. Burial was in the family lot in the Pennsylvania church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Stauffer; and the following children: Harvey E., Clara (wife of Rev. O. O. Heshberger), Dr. Frederick S., Jospeh [sic Jospeh] B., Titus m., Dr. James, all of Hesston; Rev. Daniel D., Creston, Mont., Norma G. (Mrs. Edagar Boettger), Tofield, Alberta, and Paul G., Doylestown, Pa., student at Jefferson medical, in Philadelphia.
