Missionary to Indians Dies in Winnipeg

Winnipeg, Man. — Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin Brandt, 43, longtime missionary to the Indians and Metis of Manitoba, were held Dec. 19 at the Bethel Mennonite Church here.

Mrs. Brandt died unexpectedly while attending a Christmas social of the Bergthaler church mission group with her husband.

They were missionaries in northern Manitoba for 17 years and in 1962 moved to Winnipeg where they continued work among the Metis.

Survivors in addition to her husband include five children and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Enns of Winkler.

MRS. EDWIN BRANDT (NEE MARGARETHE ENNS)

Mrs. Edwin Brandt: (nee Margarethe Enns) of North Kildonan, Winnipeg, died suddenly on December 14 in the Bergthaler Church in Winnipeg. Funeral services were held on Dec. 19 in the Bethel Mennonite Church at Stafford and Carter Ave. She was 43 year of age. Mourning her death are her husband, 5 children, and her parents, the F. M. Ennses of Winkler, as well as many friends and relatives. Her husband's parents are the John K. Brandts of Clearbrook, formerly of Winkler.
