The couple lived in Saskatoon for several years, then moved to Morden, Man. for eight years. In 1946 they moved to B.C., settling in Greendale until moving to Chilliwack in 1958. During that time he became known as a building contractor.

The family remembers him as a productive, faithful, and thankful man. He was thankful for his family, and for the ministry of God's Word and prayer.
