MRS. ROSA ALBRECHT

Mrs. Rosa Schwartz Albrecht of 8548 South Colombia Ave., Reedley, Calif., daughter of Jacob D. and Marie Goering Schwartz, was born near Yankton, South Dakota Nov. 27, 1885. As a young girl she moved with her parents to Oklahoma. She was baptized upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior at the Springfield Mennonite church, Eakley, Okla.

On Dec. 8, 1909 she married Jacob W. Albrecht and settled at Corn, Okla. and later at Eakley, Okla. where farming served as the means for a livelihood. To this union were born seven children of whom two, Clarence and Wilbert preceded the parents in death.

In 1937 the family moved to Reedley, Calif. where they attended the services at the First Mennonite church. Mr. Albrecht passed away in 1942.

She was faithful in personal devotions and even though she could not attend church services she remained faithful to her Lord. She was a quiet, wonderful person and was more or less able to take care of herself until the last six weeks. During this time she spent three weeks in the hospital, but was released to spend her last days at her home. She was conscious till the last and was able to communicate with her children and friends.

She was devoted to her family and friends. She spent many an hour crocheting in order to be able to give gifts. Another of her hobbies was raising flowers.

She went to her eternal reward Sept. 19, 1959.

She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Theodore, Willie and Floyd of Reedley, Waldo of San Jose, Calif., Frances, Mrs. Pete Brown of Dinuba, Calif., and Lily, Mrs. Joseph Gates of Dinuba; five brothers, Joe and John of Monroe, Wash., Peter of Hydro, Okla., Jake of Butler, Okla. and Daniel of San Lorenzo, Calif.; three sisters, Katie, Mrs. Peter Zerger of Monroe, Wash. Mrs. Lydia Renner of Snohomish, Wash. and Mrs. Elizabeth Dunn of Colony, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and many other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 22, 1959 at the Cairns funeral chapel in Reedley with Rev. Aaron J. Epp, pastor of the First Mennonite church, officiating.
