Sommer was born January 17, 1851 and died March 19, 1924 at Berne, Indiana.		As we are ready to go to press, we receive the sad news of the departure of Bro. I. A. Sommer, for many years editor of the "Christliche Bundesbote", and several years of the "Mennonite" and "Kinderbote”. Another of our old faithful workers has gone to his reward. Bro.  In 1921 he suffered a stroke of paralysis, which became the cause of a protracted and increasing illness. The last three weeks he was nursed by our Sisters at the Mennonite Hospital, for which he had donated the building site, an entire city block. He was called home on June 6th at 12:30 P. M. at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 16 days. He leaves four daughters, three sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, and many other relatives and friends. Two children preceded him into eternity in their infancy, and one son in young manhood. The funeral services were conducted by the brethren H. D. Penner, in English, and J. K. Penner, in German.
