David Koehn passed away Apr. 8 in Vancouver. He was born Dec. 24, 1913 to David&lt;br /&gt;
and Helene Koehn in Alexanderfeld,&lt;br /&gt;
Zagradovka, Ukraine. On&lt;br /&gt;
Nov. 29, 1936 he married&lt;br /&gt;
Helene Giesbrecht, a union&lt;br /&gt;
blessed with three children.&lt;br /&gt;
His wife and eldest daughter&lt;br /&gt;
died shortly after World War&lt;br /&gt;
II. In May, 1948 he travelled&lt;br /&gt;
from Germany to Canada. His&lt;br /&gt;
two remaining children had&lt;br /&gt;
been sent back to Russia during the war. His son was finally released in&lt;br /&gt;
1979 and his daughter in 1988. On Mar. 5,&lt;br /&gt;
1950 he married Helene Enns in Vancouver, a&lt;br /&gt;
union blessed with 2 children. Helene died of&lt;br /&gt;
cancer in July, 1980. He married Margaret&lt;br /&gt;
Hildebrand Nov. 28, 1981. He found the joy of&lt;br /&gt;
knowing Jesus on Nov. 9, 1963 and was baptized Dec. 15. He loved the Lord and read his&lt;br /&gt;
Bible daily for guidance and strength. He is&lt;br /&gt;
remembered for his sincere and genuine&lt;br /&gt;
prayers in church and around the family&lt;br /&gt;
table. He was a good husband, father and&lt;br /&gt;
grandfather. Predeceased by 2 wives, daughter Liese and all brothers and sisters, he is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by his wife Margaret; children Tina&lt;br /&gt;
Enns and Johann of Germany, Gary of Burnaby, B.C. and Elly Schemer of Abbotsford,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C.; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The funeral was Apr. 12 in Culloden&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, Vancouver, with Hans Wall and&lt;br /&gt;
Harry Janzen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

defect Feb. 18, 1991. He was born in Abbotsford (B.C.) Hospital and transferred to Children&#039;s Hospital in Vancouver, where he&lt;br /&gt;
underwent several operations. His short life&lt;br /&gt;
ended May 8. He is mourned by his parents&lt;br /&gt;
Berny and Jan Klassen of Clearbrook, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
and sisters Kirsten and Lainey. The funeral&lt;br /&gt;
was May 11 in Central Heights MB Church,&lt;br /&gt;
Abbotsford, with David Manuel ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Dorothy Anne Heidebrecht of Abbotsford,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C. passed away May 3. She was born May&lt;br /&gt;
27, 1945 to Peter and Nettie Ewert of Abbotsford. She was baptized Sept.&lt;br /&gt;
14, 1958 at McCallum Rd .&lt;br /&gt;
(now Central Heights) MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church in Abbotsford. She&lt;br /&gt;
graduated from Mennonite&lt;br /&gt;
Educational Institute and&lt;br /&gt;
attended Briercrest Bible&lt;br /&gt;
Institute. She then worked as&lt;br /&gt;
a bank teller. She married&lt;br /&gt;
George Heidebrecht June 25 &lt;br /&gt;
1966. At South Abbotsford MB Church, she&lt;br /&gt;
worked with the girls&#039; clubs and the music&lt;br /&gt;
committee, sang in the choir and played&lt;br /&gt;
piano and organ. In the community, she&lt;br /&gt;
actively promoted an educational program for&lt;br /&gt;
children with special needs. She also worked&lt;br /&gt;
for the Abbotsford School District as a secretary, and served on the Board of Directors for&lt;br /&gt;
the B.C. Association of Community Living. In&lt;br /&gt;
1984, cancer was discovered, but she recovered through surgery, medical treatment,&lt;br /&gt;
strong faith and the prayerful support of&lt;br /&gt;
friends and family. In November, 1990 the&lt;br /&gt;
cancer returned, and the same faith and support from family, church and friends sustained her. In time, her eyes of faith looked to&lt;br /&gt;
the Saviour who had guided her through her&lt;br /&gt;
life, and her wish was to go home. Predeceased by her father, she is mourned by her&lt;br /&gt;
husband; mother; children Colleen, Wendy&lt;br /&gt;
and Gordon; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was May 8 in South Abbotsford MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, with Cliff Janzen officiating.&lt;br /&gt;

Kenneth White of Richmond, B.C. passed&lt;br /&gt;
away June 17. He was born May 19, 1932 in&lt;br /&gt;
Orillia, Ont. As a child he accepted Christ. At&lt;br /&gt;
17 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, serving actively for 10 years and receiving 3&lt;br /&gt;
medals in the Korean War. During his naval&lt;br /&gt;
service, he rededicated his life to the Lord.&lt;br /&gt;
He continued serving as a reserve lieutenant,&lt;br /&gt;
working with cadets each summer until his&lt;br /&gt;
death. His testimony made an impact on&lt;br /&gt;
many young people. In Victoria, B.C. he met&lt;br /&gt;
Monica Tracey; they were married in 1961.&lt;br /&gt;
He graduated from University of B.C. with a&lt;br /&gt;
B.Ed. He taught elementary school briefly,&lt;br /&gt;
then taught at Tupper Secondary School in&lt;br /&gt;
Vancouver until his death. He was a member&lt;br /&gt;
of Fraserview MB Church in Richmond, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
for the past 10 years and was actively&lt;br /&gt;
involved, never hesitating to volunteer in&lt;br /&gt;
numerous areas. He is remembered for his&lt;br /&gt;
welcoming smile and his humourous disposition. He is survived by his wife Monica; children Allan of Adelaide, Australia and&lt;br /&gt;
Heather Epp of Richmond, B.C. The funeral&lt;br /&gt;
was June 22 at Fraserview MB Church, with&lt;br /&gt;
Herb Brandt ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Eva Siemens passed away May 8 in Clearbrook, B.C . She was born Feb. 6, 1907 to&lt;br /&gt;
Peter P. and Eva Wiens. Her brothers were&lt;br /&gt;
younger, so she often helped her father in the&lt;br /&gt;
fields. She and her parents were baptized on&lt;br /&gt;
the same day and accepted into the MB&lt;br /&gt;
church in Kleefeld, southern Russia. The&lt;br /&gt;
family immigrated to Morden, Man. in 1925,&lt;br /&gt;
later purchased a farm near Winnipeg,&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Coaldale, Alta. in 1930 and then&lt;br /&gt;
bought a farm in the Readymade, Alta. district. She married John Siemens Feb. 22,&lt;br /&gt;
1931. Eva&#039;s father had died four weeks earlier. They moved to Gem, Alta., where John&lt;br /&gt;
and his father had a farm. Eight months&lt;br /&gt;
later, they moved in with Eva&#039;s family in&lt;br /&gt;
Coaldale. In 1938 they rented a farm in&lt;br /&gt;
Namaka, Alta. Due to illness, they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Abbotsford, B.C. in 1944, purchasing a 10-&lt;br /&gt;
acre farm where they raised chickens and&lt;br /&gt;
berries. Eva was an avid seam stress; her&lt;br /&gt;
handiwork remains in the homes of many of&lt;br /&gt;
her family and friends. The family moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Vancouver, where they lived for 35 years. For&lt;br /&gt;
the last two years Eva and John lived in&lt;br /&gt;
Clearbrook, B.C. She is mourned by her husband, son Alfred , daughter Mary and 5&lt;br /&gt;
grandchildren. The funeral was May 13 in&lt;br /&gt;
Bakerview MB Church, Clearbrook, with&lt;br /&gt;
Harry Heidebrecht and William Schmidt&lt;br /&gt;
ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

August Pahl of Linden, Alta. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
May 21. He was born Feb. 17, 1906 in&lt;br /&gt;
Leipzig, Bessarabia, Russia. He married&lt;br /&gt;
Emilie Suko, Aug. 27, 1927. They farmed&lt;br /&gt;
together in Bessarabia and Poland before&lt;br /&gt;
immigrating to Spondin, Alta., where they&lt;br /&gt;
fanned until their retirement. In 1974 they&lt;br /&gt;
retired to Linden. He leaves a legacy of teaching and example about the necessity of honesty and hard work, the importance of family&lt;br /&gt;
relationships, and the value of a strong faith&lt;br /&gt;
in God. He is mourned by his wife; children&lt;br /&gt;
Art of Calgary, Elsie Lange of Kelowna, B.C.,&lt;br /&gt;
William of Coaldale, Alta., Fred of Calgary,&lt;br /&gt;
Irma Hoivik of Sardis, B.C., Otto of Three&lt;br /&gt;
Hills, Alta., and Hilda Thomson of Calgary; 1&lt;br /&gt;
brother and 1 sister. The funeral was May 24&lt;br /&gt;
in Linden MB Church, with Ralph Klassen&lt;br /&gt;

Anna Loewen of Winnipeg passed away June&lt;br /&gt;
15. She was born June 14, 1894 to Peter and&lt;br /&gt;
Katharina Redekopp of Gnadenthal, Baratov,&lt;br /&gt;
southern Russia. She accepted Christ as a child. She married Jacob Loewen May 11,&lt;br /&gt;
1919. They were baptized by&lt;br /&gt;
and joined the MB Church&lt;br /&gt;
June 14, 1925. Later that&lt;br /&gt;
year they immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada. In 1928 they bought&lt;br /&gt;
a pear farm in Holmfield,&lt;br /&gt;
Man. In 1943 they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Elm Creek, Man. They moved to Winnipeg in&lt;br /&gt;
1964. A few years later Jacob had his first&lt;br /&gt;
stroke. She was a faithful companion and&lt;br /&gt;
helper through his suffering and his stay in&lt;br /&gt;
Donwood Manor. He passed away Mar. 23,&lt;br /&gt;
1986. Predeceased by two daughters in infancy, she is mourned by her children Katie of&lt;br /&gt;
Winnipeg, Susie Enns and Anne Klassen of&lt;br /&gt;
St. Catharines, Jacob of Kitchener, Ont.,&lt;br /&gt;
Peter of Cali, Colombia, John of Elm Creek,&lt;br /&gt;
Man. and Abram of Kenora, Ont.; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister. The funeral was June 19 in North Kildonan MB Church , Winnipeg, with John Epp&lt;br /&gt;
and William Neufeld ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

August Pahl of Linden, Alta. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
May 21. He was born Feb. 17, 1906 in&lt;br /&gt;
Leipzig, Bessarabia, Russia. He married&lt;br /&gt;
Emilie Suko, Aug. 27, 1927. They farmed&lt;br /&gt;
together in Bessarabia and Poland before&lt;br /&gt;
immigrating to Spondin, Alta., where they&lt;br /&gt;
fanned until their retirement. In 1974 they&lt;br /&gt;
retired to Linden. He leaves a legacy of teaching and example about the necessity of honesty and hard work, the importance of family&lt;br /&gt;
relationships, and the value of a strong faith&lt;br /&gt;
in God. He is mourned by his wife; children&lt;br /&gt;
Art of Calgary, Elsie Lange of Kelowna, B.C.,&lt;br /&gt;
William of Coaldale, Alta., Fred of Calgary,&lt;br /&gt;
Irma Hoivik of Sardis, B.C., Otto of Three&lt;br /&gt;
Hills, Alta., and Hilda Thomson of Calgary; 1&lt;br /&gt;
brother and 1 sister. The funeral was May 24&lt;br /&gt;
in Linden MB Church, with Ralph Klassen&lt;br /&gt;
officiating.&lt;br /&gt;

Emily Ruth Little of Battle Heights, Sask.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away May 5. She was born Oct. 15,&lt;br /&gt;
1906 to George and Emily Blenkin of Sintaluta, Sask. The family moved to Nipawin, Sask.&lt;br /&gt;
in December, 1924. On Oct. 4, 1928 she married Clayton Little. The early years of their&lt;br /&gt;
marriage were spent in Nipawin and Moose&lt;br /&gt;
Range, Sask. In fall, 1939 they filed on a&lt;br /&gt;
homestead at Battle Heights, Sask., where&lt;br /&gt;
she resided until her death. In her senior&lt;br /&gt;
years, she enjoyed travelling and camping&lt;br /&gt;
with the family. She enjoyed preserving,&lt;br /&gt;
making &amp;quot;diary entries&amp;quot; on the jars. She&lt;br /&gt;
enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and reading; sincerely loved her family, friends and&lt;br /&gt;
neighbours; and always appreciated community and church events. Predeceased by her&lt;br /&gt;
husband in 1968, 1 sister and 2 brothers, she&lt;br /&gt;
is survived by her children Laurie of Carrot&lt;br /&gt;
River, Sask., Lyle of Burns Lake, B.C., Lois of&lt;br /&gt;
Biggar, Sask., and Lome and Linda of Carrot&lt;br /&gt;
River; 9 grandchildren; niece Pat Pederson,&lt;br /&gt;
whom she included in her family following&lt;br /&gt;
her sister Ada&#039;s death; 2 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was May 9 in MB Gospel&lt;br /&gt;
Mission in Carrot River, with Herman Kroeker ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

away June 18. He was born Jan. 6, 1894 to&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob August and Elizabeth Loepp in&lt;br /&gt;
Friedensfeld, No.3, Zagradovka. In November, 1918 he married Anna Fast of Blumenort, No.7, Zagradovka. They committed&lt;br /&gt;
their lives to the Lord during meetings led by&lt;br /&gt;
Franz Klassen of Tiege. In September, 1926&lt;br /&gt;
they were baptized. They immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada in 1926, and lived in southern Manitoba for a short while before&lt;br /&gt;
settling on a grain farm near&lt;br /&gt;
Gem, Alta. For two or three&lt;br /&gt;
years they moved to Courtney&lt;br /&gt;
on Vancouver Island, but&lt;br /&gt;
returned to Alberta. They&lt;br /&gt;
adopted 2 boys. In 1945 they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to a dairy farm in East&lt;br /&gt;
Chilliwack, B.C. In 1966 they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Clearbrook. Anna&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Aug. 19, 1971. On June 2, 1972&lt;br /&gt;
he married Maria Klassen, a widow. They&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Sherwood Home when health&lt;br /&gt;
became poor. He is mourned by his wife; sons&lt;br /&gt;
Jake of Dawson Creek and Henry of Langley;&lt;br /&gt;
stepchildren Mary Wiens of Clearbrook, Tena&lt;br /&gt;

Anne Krahn of Winkler, Man. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
June 3. She was born Apr. 22, 1928 to Rev.&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob and Sarah Penner in Winnipeg. The&lt;br /&gt;
family moved to Port Rowan,  &lt;br /&gt;
Ont. during the early 1930s.&lt;br /&gt;
At age 11 she accepted Jesus.&lt;br /&gt;
She loved weekly Bible study,&lt;br /&gt;
sang in the church choir and&lt;br /&gt;
taught Sunday school. She&lt;br /&gt;
taught vacation Bible school&lt;br /&gt;
in rural and northern&lt;br /&gt;
Ontario. She was baptized&lt;br /&gt;
and joined Port Rowan MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church at age 16. She attended Eden Bible&lt;br /&gt;
School in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. for 3&lt;br /&gt;
years. She trained as a Registered Nursing&lt;br /&gt;
Assistant in Hamilton and served in Hamilton, Kitchener, Waterloo and Simcoe, Ont.&lt;br /&gt;
hospitals for about 7 years. In fall, 1962 she&lt;br /&gt;
helped the Krahn family when her sister&lt;br /&gt;
Lena was ill. She married Peter Krahn May&lt;br /&gt;
17,1963 after Lena passed away, taking on a&lt;br /&gt;
family of 7. Another 3 children were born.&lt;br /&gt;
They moved to Winkler in 1971 to take on the&lt;br /&gt;
Winkler Bible Book Shop. She joined Winkler&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, where she served faithfully for&lt;br /&gt;
20 years, teaching pre-primary and nursery&lt;br /&gt;
Sunday school. Predeceased by 1 grandchild&lt;br /&gt;
in 1978, she is mourned by her husband;, children Dorothy of North Bay, Ont., Viola of&lt;br /&gt;
Yorkton Heights, NY, Arthur of Three Hills,&lt;br /&gt;
Alta., Esther of Wolfville, N.S., Elvera of&lt;br /&gt;

Susanna Schroeder June 15, 1907 in Grossweide, Man. He was baptized&lt;br /&gt;
in 1929. On Oct. 4, 1931 he&lt;br /&gt;
married Elizabeth Wiebe of&lt;br /&gt;
Kronsgart, Man. They moved&lt;br /&gt;
to Carman, Man., where they&lt;br /&gt;
farmed. In 1957 they moved&lt;br /&gt;
to Morden, Man. He had a&lt;br /&gt;
variety of jobs, but carpentry&lt;br /&gt;
and woodworking were his&lt;br /&gt;
specialty. He made doll furniture, lawn swings and desks for the grandchildren. In 1981 they retired to Winkler. He&lt;br /&gt;
had an avid interest in the Mennonite heritage, had good memories of his childhood&lt;br /&gt;
and parenting years, loved poetry and .filled&lt;br /&gt;
reams of paper with lifelike drawings of&lt;br /&gt;
southern Manitoba animals. His greatest love&lt;br /&gt;
was his family. Predeceased by his wife July&lt;br /&gt;
23, 1988, 4 sisters and 2 brothers, he is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by his children Lorance of Winkler,&lt;br /&gt;
Margaret Janzen of Springstein, Man., Susan&lt;br /&gt;

(Man.) MB Church in 1929.&lt;br /&gt;
On Feb. 15, 1931 he married&lt;br /&gt;
Tina Bergman. They farmed&lt;br /&gt;
near Wheatland and Alexander, Man. and moved to Forrest, Man. in&lt;br /&gt;
1944, joining Justice MB Church. Tina died&lt;br /&gt;
Dec. 2, 1972. He moved to Brandon a year&lt;br /&gt;
later. On Mar. 13, 1975 he married Nina&lt;br /&gt;
Neufeld. Predeceased by his first wife Tina,&lt;br /&gt;
son Herb Apr. 23, 1969 and 1 great-grandson&lt;br /&gt;
in 1990, he is mourned by his second wife&lt;br /&gt;

Jacob Siemens of St. Catharines passed&lt;br /&gt;
away ,Jan. 25. He was born Jan. 21, 1907 to&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob and Sara Siemens in Petrovka, Orenburg, Russia. The family&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Saratov, Siberia in&lt;br /&gt;
1912. He married Justina&lt;br /&gt;
Wiens in 1928 in eastern Russia near the Amur River.&lt;br /&gt;
They fled across the Amur&lt;br /&gt;
into China in 1930 and immigrated to Paraguay in 1932.&lt;br /&gt;
While the struggle for survival was hard, there was&lt;br /&gt;
family contentment. He was a good provider&lt;br /&gt;
and family man. He became involved in village government and joined the MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
They immigrated to Canada in 1950. He&lt;br /&gt;
farmed for 10 years near Edmonton, then&lt;br /&gt;
became a carpenter. He retired in 1974. He&lt;br /&gt;
started furniture production as a hobby in his&lt;br /&gt;
garage. In 1988 they moved to St. Catharines&lt;br /&gt;
and joined Scott St. MB Church. During his&lt;br /&gt;
retirement, he became keenly aware of God&#039;s&lt;br /&gt;
blessings, his loyal helpmate, his children&lt;br /&gt;
and material blessings. He is survived by his&lt;br /&gt;
wife; children Jake of St. Catharines, Elizabeth Schmidt of Edmonton, Rudy of Fonthill,&lt;br /&gt;
Ont., Sara Klassen of Jordan, Ont. and Elvira Pain, Bill Siemens and Elsie Bargen of&lt;br /&gt;
Edmonton; 21 grandchildren and 16 great&lt;br /&gt;
grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 29 in&lt;br /&gt;
Scott St. MB Church, with John Unrau ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Lydia Neufeld of Winnipeg passed away May&lt;br /&gt;
18. She was born July 1, 1906 to Isaak and&lt;br /&gt;
Anna Neufeld in Waldheim, Molotschna,&lt;br /&gt;
southern Russia. At age 18 she accepted&lt;br /&gt;
Christ and was baptized. In 1926 the family&lt;br /&gt;
immigrated to Canada. They settled in Winnipeg, then moved to Altona, Man. She&lt;br /&gt;
attended high school and then went to Normal School in Winnipeg. She taught for 35&lt;br /&gt;
years in Twin Creek, Man., Niverville, Man.,&lt;br /&gt;
Altona and Yarrow, B.C., and for 22 years in&lt;br /&gt;
Princess Margaret School in Winnipeg. After&lt;br /&gt;
retirement, she travelled extensively. She is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by her brother William, sister&lt;br /&gt;
Martha Baerg and many nieces and nephews.&lt;br /&gt;
The funeral was May 16 in North Kildonan&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, Winnipeg, with John Epp and&lt;br /&gt;
John Baerg ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Maria Ratzlaff passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Apr. 26. She was born Dec.&lt;br /&gt;
29, 1897 to Franz and Maria&lt;br /&gt;
Janzen in Osterwick, Chortitza, southern Russia. Her&lt;br /&gt;
mother died 7 months later,&lt;br /&gt;
and her father remarried&lt;br /&gt;
twice. In 1906 they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Millerovo. In 1917 she&lt;br /&gt;
decided to follow the Lord,&lt;br /&gt;
was baptized and joined Millerovo MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church. She married Gustav Ratzlaff Sept.&lt;br /&gt;
15, 1918. In 1923 they moved to Wymyschle,&lt;br /&gt;
Poland, where he was choir and youth leader&lt;br /&gt;
and minister in Wymyschle MB Church. In&lt;br /&gt;
1945 they fled west, but she and the children&lt;br /&gt;
were sent back by the Red Army. They were&lt;br /&gt;
reunited in Germany in 1946, and in 1949&lt;br /&gt;
they immigrated to Linden, Alta. In 1952&lt;br /&gt;
they bought a small farm in Arnold, B.C. Life&lt;br /&gt;
was hard but good. Gustav was a minister,&lt;br /&gt;
then pastor, of Arnold MB Church and had&lt;br /&gt;
outside work. She worked hard all her life,&lt;br /&gt;
milking the cows, weeding the berries and&lt;br /&gt;
doing all that was necessary. She was always&lt;br /&gt;
ready to help, even when it seemed impossible, and was always ready to welcome their&lt;br /&gt;
frequent visitors. They moved to Clearbrook&lt;br /&gt;
Dec. 27, 1967. Gustav became ill in 1981,&lt;br /&gt;
remaining in hospital until his death in 1985.&lt;br /&gt;
She moved to Tabor Home in Clearbrook in&lt;br /&gt;
1981 and to Menno Hospital in Abbotsford&lt;br /&gt;
Dec. 29,1987. She is remembered as a loving,&lt;br /&gt;
patient mother who loved God. Predeceased&lt;br /&gt;
by her husband, daughter Minna in 1968, son&lt;br /&gt;
Gustav in the USSR, son Franz in World War&lt;br /&gt;
II, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers,&lt;br /&gt;
she is mourned by her children Ema Ratzlaff&lt;br /&gt;
of Calgary, Gustav of Richmond, B.C., Herbert of Abbotsford and Bernie of Mt. Lehman,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C. The funeral was May 1 in Clearbrook&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, with John E. Klassen and Lloyd&lt;br /&gt;
Pankratz ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Jacob and Helena Siemens. She married&lt;br /&gt;
Peter Arens, Aug. 18, 1930 in Herbert, Sask.,&lt;br /&gt;
a union blessed with 2 children, James&lt;br /&gt;
Richard and Wella Audrey. Peter died in&lt;br /&gt;
1939. On Aug. 4, 1940, she married Isaac&lt;br /&gt;
Neufeld, a widower with 5 children. Two&lt;br /&gt;
more children were born. She was baptized&lt;br /&gt;
Sept. 12, 1943 in Herbert. In fall, 1945 they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Clearbrook, B.C. She worked very&lt;br /&gt;
hard. She worked in various stores and in&lt;br /&gt;
Aylmer&#039;s cannery and picked berries and&lt;br /&gt;
hops. She cared for Isaac in his last years.&lt;br /&gt;
Son Garry built a suite for them. Isaac died&lt;br /&gt;
in 1989. She then moved to Kelowna, to be&lt;br /&gt;
near her son and sister. Predeceased by 2 sisters, she is mourned by her children Jacob&lt;br /&gt;

Cornelius Peter Wolfe of Clearbrook, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away May 22. He was born Nov. 4,&lt;br /&gt;
1914 to Peter and Elizabeth&lt;br /&gt;
Wolfe in Fuerstenland,&lt;br /&gt;
southern Russia. They lived&lt;br /&gt;
on a mixed farm. After the&lt;br /&gt;
Russian Revolution, they&lt;br /&gt;
immigrated to southern&lt;br /&gt;
Manitoba and farmed for 8&lt;br /&gt;
years. He received little formal education. In the&lt;br /&gt;
Depression they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Yarrow, B.C., where they&lt;br /&gt;
worked in the hopyards and sawmill. In 1934&lt;br /&gt;
he accepted Christ under the ministry of A.H.&lt;br /&gt;
Unruh. In 1943 he was baptized and joined&lt;br /&gt;
Yarrow MB Church, where he was a parking&lt;br /&gt;
attendant. He preferred to serve where he&lt;br /&gt;
was not noticed. His social life revolved&lt;br /&gt;
around the young people&#039;s group. He married&lt;br /&gt;
Mary Heinrichs Mar. 16, 1941. They had a&lt;br /&gt;
small dairy and raspberry farm, and he held&lt;br /&gt;
various part-time jobs. At age 50 he began&lt;br /&gt;
working for Guenther Door Factory and&lt;br /&gt;
phased out farming. He developed hobbies,&lt;br /&gt;
which he pursued after retirement, making&lt;br /&gt;
spinning wheels, clocks, windmills and steam&lt;br /&gt;
engines. This gave him much joy, and he&lt;br /&gt;
donated many to the MCC auction. He spent&lt;br /&gt;
his last 4 years in a condominium in Clearbrook and joined Clearbrook MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
Cancer was found 2 years ago, but he was&lt;br /&gt;
able to pursue his activities without pain. He&lt;br /&gt;
is mourned by his wife; sons John, Walter&lt;br /&gt;
and Ken; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2&lt;br /&gt;
sisters. The funeral was May 25 in Clearbrook MB Church, with Jacob Pauls and J .E.&lt;br /&gt;
Klassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

May 25. She was born June 10, 1924 in&lt;br /&gt;
Devlin Township, Ont. and educated in Kincardine, Ont. She married James Monteith&lt;br /&gt;
Aug. 22, 1942. They moved to Alberta, then&lt;br /&gt;
B.C., retiring to Coaldale in 1978. She is&lt;br /&gt;
remembered as a joyous Christian, eager to&lt;br /&gt;
share her Lord with others. Her unwavering&lt;br /&gt;
trust during months of suffering from cancer&lt;br /&gt;
was an inspiration to many. She is survived&lt;br /&gt;
by her husband, daughters Judith Doiron&lt;br /&gt;
and Darlene Leger and sons Phillip and&lt;br /&gt;
Stephen, all of Alberta; 9 grandchildren and&lt;br /&gt;
1 great-grandchild. She planned her funeral&lt;br /&gt;
as a testimony of her steadfast faith in her&lt;br /&gt;
Saviour. The funeral was in Coaldale MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, where she had fellowshipped for a&lt;br /&gt;
number of years, with Rudy Heidebrecht&lt;br /&gt;
ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Elizabeth Heidebrecht of Coaldale, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away May 31. She was born May 14,&lt;br /&gt;
1901 to Peter and Elizabeth&lt;br /&gt;
Dirks in Gnadenfeld,&lt;br /&gt;
Ukraine. By 1914 both parents, a sister and a brother&lt;br /&gt;
had died. She faced the civil&lt;br /&gt;
war with 2 brothers, but also&lt;br /&gt;
had happy times as part of&lt;br /&gt;
the community orchestra&lt;br /&gt;
and church choir. In 1922&lt;br /&gt;
she married Peter Heidebrecht. In 1925 they immigrated to Linden,&lt;br /&gt;
Alta., moving to Coaldale in 1947. She was a&lt;br /&gt;
good provider for her family, making do with&lt;br /&gt;
limited means. She had come to know the&lt;br /&gt;
Saviour in her youth, and there were times of&lt;br /&gt;
recommitment later. As a widow, she was&lt;br /&gt;
often observed in deep concentration, reading&lt;br /&gt;
God&#039;s Word and communing with her Master.&lt;br /&gt;
She saw intercession for her family as her&lt;br /&gt;
chief role. Poor health marked her whole life.&lt;br /&gt;
She spent her last 6 months in Coaldale&lt;br /&gt;
Health Care Centre. Predeceased by her husband in 1980 and son Victor in 1946, she is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by daughter s Erica Doucette of&lt;br /&gt;
Abbotsford, B.C., Lillian Litke of Westlock,&lt;br /&gt;
Alta., Hilda of Coaldale, Anne of Calgary and&lt;br /&gt;

Thomas Graham Cavers of La Riviere, Man.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away May 29. He was born June 12,&lt;br /&gt;
1915 to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cavers in Pilot&lt;br /&gt;
Mound, Man., where he grew up and attended school. In 1940 he married Florence Houston. They farmed near La Riviere, retiring&lt;br /&gt;
into town in 1973. He continued to lend a&lt;br /&gt;
hand on the farm, served as administrator of&lt;br /&gt;
the La Riviere Lodge and enjoyed gardening.&lt;br /&gt;
In March, 1972 he invited Christ into his life&lt;br /&gt;
and was baptized. He gained many Christian&lt;br /&gt;
friends who were a source of strength and&lt;br /&gt;
encouragement throughout his illness. He is&lt;br /&gt;
remembered as a caring friend, loving husband, father and grandfather, and constant&lt;br /&gt;
strength for his family. His grandchildren&lt;br /&gt;
gave him much joy. Predeceased by 1 brother,&lt;br /&gt;
he is mourned by his wife; sons Ernie of La&lt;br /&gt;
Riviere , Lloyd of Neepawa, Man. and&lt;br /&gt;
Lawrence of Manitou, Man.; daughters Judy&lt;br /&gt;
Cruise and Glenda Scurfield of Winnipeg;&lt;br /&gt;
and 13 grandchildren. The funeral was June&lt;br /&gt;
1 in Manitou MB Church, with George Toews&lt;br /&gt;
ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Amelia Harder passed away Feb. 5. She was&lt;br /&gt;
born Nov. 14, 1891 to Paul and Maria Koop in&lt;br /&gt;
Tiege, Molotschna, Russia. At an early age&lt;br /&gt;
she committed her life to Christ and was baptized. She married Jacob Harder Oct. 31,&lt;br /&gt;
1913. Daughter Lydia was born in 1919. They&lt;br /&gt;
immigrated to Canada in 1924, settling in&lt;br /&gt;
Alexander, Man. In 1934 they moved to Manitou, Man., where they adopted son Jacob&lt;br /&gt;
Allen. She served in numerous areas in Manitou MB Church, including that of custodian.&lt;br /&gt;
Her greatest desire in life was to serve the&lt;br /&gt;
Lord. In 1977 she moved to Salem Home,&lt;br /&gt;
Winkler, Man. Predeceased by her daughter&lt;br /&gt;
in 1958, husband in 1976 and son in 1986,&lt;br /&gt;
she is mourned by 3 grandchildren and 5&lt;br /&gt;
great-grandchildren. The funeral was Feb. 11&lt;br /&gt;
in Manitou MB Church, with George Toews&lt;br /&gt;
and Jake Klassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Sara Dick of St. Catharines passed away May&lt;br /&gt;
17. She was born in 1892 to Isaak and Ann&lt;br /&gt;
Enns in Friedensdorf, Ukraine. In 1912 she&lt;br /&gt;
married Abram Jacob Dick.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1926 they immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Dalmeny, Sask., later moving&lt;br /&gt;
to Namaka, Alta. There they&lt;br /&gt;
found peace with the Lord,&lt;br /&gt;
were baptized and joined the&lt;br /&gt;
MB church. They moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Hepburn, Sask., where they&lt;br /&gt;
experienced difficulties in&lt;br /&gt;
farming but many blessings&lt;br /&gt;
from the Lord. In 1935 they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Vineland, Ont. They bought a small acreage&lt;br /&gt;
and farmed for 15 years until they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
St. Catharines. Here they joined Scott St. MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, where she remained a member until&lt;br /&gt;
her death. Abram died in 1963 and she&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Scott St. Church Apts. She moved&lt;br /&gt;
to Tabor Manor 13 years later. Her favourite&lt;br /&gt;
verse was Is. 43:1. Predeceased by her husband and 2 great-grandchildren, she is survived by her sons Jacob and Abe; daughter&lt;br /&gt;
Katie Bousfield; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was May 21 in Scott St.&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, with Henry Penner and John&lt;br /&gt;
Uurau ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Cornelius Giesbrecht of Foam Lake, Sask.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away May 20. He was&lt;br /&gt;
born July 9, 1914 to Abraham&lt;br /&gt;
and Helen Giesbrecht in Seventy-five, Siberia, Russia. The&lt;br /&gt;
family immigrated to Herbert,&lt;br /&gt;
Sask. in 1926. In 1938 they&lt;br /&gt;
bought a farm near Foam&lt;br /&gt;
Lake. Corney accepted Jesus&lt;br /&gt;
at an evangelistic meeting in&lt;br /&gt;
Bertdale Hall. He was baptized in 1939. He married Lena Krause May 18. 1941. They farmed near Foam Lake until&lt;br /&gt;
1977, when they moved to town. His faith&lt;br /&gt;
was central to his life and family. He helped&lt;br /&gt;
build Foam Lake MB (now Gospel Fellowship) Church. He was active in church work&lt;br /&gt;
until the end. He was friendly and helpful,&lt;br /&gt;
never complained and lived life to the fullest.&lt;br /&gt;
He often spoke of the wonderful hope of&lt;br /&gt;
someday seeing his Saviour face to face. Predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers, he is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by his wife; children Edwin of Sault&lt;br /&gt;
Ste Marie, Ont., Agnes Diekert of Vancouver,&lt;br /&gt;
Anne Cooper of Foam Lake, Hank of Calgary,&lt;br /&gt;
Erma Neuman of New Norway, Alta., Alvin of&lt;br /&gt;
Lanigan, Sask., Joy Batten of Calgary and&lt;br /&gt;

Cornelius &amp;quot;Con&amp;quot; Giesbrecht of Medicine Hat, Alta. passed away Apr. 23. He was born Aug.&lt;br /&gt;
30,1917 in Russia. The family immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada. He married Sarah Redekopp of Big&lt;br /&gt;
River, Sask. Nov. 2, 1941. They lived near Big&lt;br /&gt;
River and Debden, Sask. until 1943, when&lt;br /&gt;
they moved to Prince Albert, Sask. He&lt;br /&gt;
worked at various jobs, with carpentry as his&lt;br /&gt;
main interest. In 1961 they moved to Saskatoon, where he worked for Boychuk Construction. Due to ill health he moved to Calgary in&lt;br /&gt;
1969 and began working for the Workman&#039;s&lt;br /&gt;
Compensation Board. He was transferred to&lt;br /&gt;
Medicine Hat in 1973. In 1975 he returned to&lt;br /&gt;
construction on work. He had a heart attack in&lt;br /&gt;
1979. He was not a man to sit still, so he took&lt;br /&gt;
training and set up his own locksmith business. Ill health forced him to sell the business. After retirement he spent his hours&lt;br /&gt;
helping family and friends with his many&lt;br /&gt;
skills. He is survived by his wife; sons Rod of&lt;br /&gt;
Canmore, Alta., Bernie of Port Coquitlam,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C. and Brad of Saskatoon; 4 grandchildren;&lt;br /&gt;
1 brother and 2 sisters. The funeral was Apr.&lt;br /&gt;
27 in Crestwood MB Church, Medicine Hat,&lt;br /&gt;
with Mark Jantzen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

southern Russia. He fled&lt;br /&gt;
with his mother, 2 brothers and 2 sisters,&lt;br /&gt;
reaching Humboldt, Sask. in 1924. After 10&lt;br /&gt;
years of struggling to farm on the prairies, he&lt;br /&gt;
moved his wife and young&lt;br /&gt;
family to Chilliwack, B.C. in&lt;br /&gt;
1931. He worked on farms, on&lt;br /&gt;
railways, in sawmills and in&lt;br /&gt;
nurseries. His greatest success was growing berries. He&lt;br /&gt;
enjoyed singing, fishing, travelling and visiting the sick&lt;br /&gt;
and elderly. He is remembered as a devout Christian&lt;br /&gt;
who practised his faith sincerely and taught&lt;br /&gt;
his children the Way of Life. He was a member of Greendale MB Church in Sardis, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife;&lt;br /&gt;
children Wilmer, John, Leona Baerg, Serena&lt;br /&gt;
Rempel, Gertie Ratzlaff, Abe, Susan and Debbie Reimer; 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was May 9 in Greendale MB Church. &lt;br /&gt;

Katie Suderman of Sardis, B.C. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Apr. 26. She was born Jan. 25, 1899 to Johan&lt;br /&gt;
and Anna Krause in Blumenfeld, Russia. She&lt;br /&gt;
accepted Christ Apr. 26, 1921.&lt;br /&gt;
In July, 1921 she was baptized in the Dnieper River&lt;br /&gt;
near Nikapol and joined the&lt;br /&gt;
local MB church. She married&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob Suderman May 5, 1922&lt;br /&gt;
during a time of famine. In&lt;br /&gt;
1923 they immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada, settling in Steinbach,&lt;br /&gt;
Man. They moved to Winnipeg&lt;br /&gt;
in 1924 and to Vancouver in 1930. They&lt;br /&gt;
bought Willowmoor Auto Court and Garage&lt;br /&gt;
in Sardis in 1931 and later built a home on&lt;br /&gt;
the adjacent 5 acres. Here daughter Viola&lt;br /&gt;
was born; 4 previous children had died. After&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob had an accident in 1965, causing brain&lt;br /&gt;
damage, they sold the farm and moved into&lt;br /&gt;
Sardis. He died May 12, 1969. In the last 5&lt;br /&gt;
years she suffered from weakness and failing&lt;br /&gt;
health, but never complained and constantly&lt;br /&gt;
found reasons to be thankful. As long as she&lt;br /&gt;
was on earth, she felt God had a purpose for&lt;br /&gt;
her: to pray. In the last 2 weeks she desired&lt;br /&gt;
to be with the Lord. She is survived by her&lt;br /&gt;
daughter Viola in Sardis and 1 brother. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was Apr. 30 in Greendale MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, with Len Doerksen and David&lt;br /&gt;
Froese ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

John George Wiens passed away May 6. He&lt;br /&gt;
was born Mar. 8, 1905 to George and Aganeta Wiens in Kuban, &lt;br /&gt;
Wiens in Kuban, southern Russia. He fled&lt;br /&gt;
with his mother, 2 brothers and 2 sisters,&lt;br /&gt;
reaching Humboldt, Sask. in 1924. After 10&lt;br /&gt;
years of struggling to farm on the prairies, he&lt;br /&gt;
moved his wife and young&lt;br /&gt;
family to Chilliwack, B.C. in&lt;br /&gt;
1931. He worked on farms, on&lt;br /&gt;
railways, in sawmills and in&lt;br /&gt;
nurseries. His greatest success was growing berries. He&lt;br /&gt;
enjoyed singing, fishing, travelling and visiting the sick&lt;br /&gt;
and elderly. He is remembered as a devout Christian&lt;br /&gt;
who practised his faith sincerely and taught&lt;br /&gt;
his children the Way of Life. He was a member of Greendale MB Church in Sardis, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife;&lt;br /&gt;

Jacob Friesen of Abbotsford, B.C. passed&lt;br /&gt;
away May 10. He was born Sept. 15, 1908 to&lt;br /&gt;
Peter and Helena Friesen in Davlekanovo,&lt;br /&gt;
Ufa, Russia. In 1926 the family fled to Canada. After a&lt;br /&gt;
brief time in Winnipeg, they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Winkler, where his&lt;br /&gt;
father died. Some years later&lt;br /&gt;
he moved to Alberta, where&lt;br /&gt;
he farmed in Vauxhall, Coaldale and then Cardston. He&lt;br /&gt;
loved children and, because&lt;br /&gt;
he had none of his own, loved&lt;br /&gt;
to romp with his nieces and nephews. On Oct.&lt;br /&gt;
17,1973 he married Mary Wiebe of Leamington, Ont. They settled in Abbotsford to enjoy&lt;br /&gt;
retirement, travelling and enjoying visits&lt;br /&gt;
with friends and relatives. Mary passed away&lt;br /&gt;
of cancer Jan. 29, 1990. He is mourned by his&lt;br /&gt;
sisters Mary and Annie Goertzen of Clearbrook, B.C. and Margaret Dueck of Coaldale,&lt;br /&gt;
and many nieces and nephews. The funeral&lt;br /&gt;
was in Clearbrook MB Church, with John&lt;br /&gt;
Klassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Eugenia Fowler Quiring of Fresno, CA&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Apr. 27. She was born Feb. 24,&lt;br /&gt;
1922 in Hartford, CT. She came to know the&lt;br /&gt;
Lord in her late teens and joined the Christian &amp;amp; Missionary Alliance Church in West&lt;br /&gt;
Hartford. She earned a bachelor&#039;s degree&lt;br /&gt;
from Yale University School of Music in 1943,&lt;br /&gt;
then taught music and Christian education&lt;br /&gt;
in New York and Florida. In 1947 she went to&lt;br /&gt;
Pacitic Bible Institute (now Fresno Pacific&lt;br /&gt;
College) to teach piano and study. She married Wilmer Quiring July 23, 1949. They&lt;br /&gt;
studied at Fresno and Hartford Seminary.&lt;br /&gt;
They worked in administration and teaching&lt;br /&gt;
in a Colombia primary school under MBMIS&lt;br /&gt;
1952-56. John completed his master&#039;s degree&lt;br /&gt;
in Connecticut, then taught a year at Mexico&lt;br /&gt;
Bible Institute. They worked in a church&lt;br /&gt;
leadership training program in Colombia&lt;br /&gt;
1959-64. They then lived in West Hartford,&lt;br /&gt;
where she worked for West Hartford Public&lt;br /&gt;
Schools and the Connecticut Dairy and Food&lt;br /&gt;
Council. She served as pianist, organist and&lt;br /&gt;
teacher in church. In 1974 they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Fresno, where she was active in North Fresno MB Church. They were interim pastor&lt;br /&gt;
couple of Dinuba (CA) Calvario MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
She was also employed by Fresno Church of&lt;br /&gt;
the Brethren until 1986. After retirement,&lt;br /&gt;
she taught a women&#039;s Bible study. In 1986&lt;br /&gt;
they joined West Park Community Church,&lt;br /&gt;
where they faithfully ministered. Despite&lt;br /&gt;
failing health over many years, she retained&lt;br /&gt;
a cheerful, uncomplaining spirit, bringing&lt;br /&gt;
love and joy to others. She is mourned by her&lt;br /&gt;
husband; children Naomi Mizumoto, Phebe&lt;br /&gt;
Wahl, Lois Ewert and John; and 5 grandchildren. The funeral was May 2 in North Fresno&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church, with Hugo Zorilla ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Leonidovka, Ignatievo, Russia. When he was&lt;br /&gt;
5, the family moved to Steinfeld near&lt;br /&gt;
Babenkow, where they farmed. His brother&lt;br /&gt;
was conscripted, and he and his widowed&lt;br /&gt;
mother went to Barrisow. In 1919 they lost&lt;br /&gt;
everything to robbers and fled to Leonidovka.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1919 he was baptized by elder Unruh of&lt;br /&gt;
New York, Ignatievo. H e married Katie&lt;br /&gt;
Klassen June 28, 1920. They came to Canada&lt;br /&gt;
in 1927 and to Yarrow in 1931. He was active&lt;br /&gt;
in community endeavours. Katie died June&lt;br /&gt;
30, 1977. He joined Yarrow MB Church Oct.&lt;br /&gt;
30, 1988. He is survived by his children Bill&lt;br /&gt;
of Yarrow, Abe, Freda Martens, Hugo and&lt;br /&gt;
Erna Klingspohn; 16 grandchildren and&lt;br /&gt;
great-grandchildren ; and 1 brother. The&lt;br /&gt;

Apr. 17. She was born Dec. 7, 1903 to Johann&lt;br /&gt;
and Aganeta Paetkau in Burwalde, Russia.&lt;br /&gt;
In December, 1925 she came to Main Centre,&lt;br /&gt;
Sask. with her husband John&lt;br /&gt;
Pauls and son, John. They&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Beechy, Sask. in&lt;br /&gt;
1927, back to Main Centre&lt;br /&gt;
in 1934, to Greenfarm,&lt;br /&gt;
Sask. in 1943, then to&lt;br /&gt;
Main Centre and to Winnipeg in 1959. She loved&lt;br /&gt;
to sing and knew countless&lt;br /&gt;
German hymns from memory. She loved her household&lt;br /&gt;
work. She encouraged her children to pursue&lt;br /&gt;
a good education (she had completed only&lt;br /&gt;
grade 5) and instilled in them a love of reading. She chose to look after 2 handicapped&lt;br /&gt;
children until after her 60th wedding&lt;br /&gt;
anniversary. In Donwood Manor she was&lt;br /&gt;
always cheerful and happy. Predeceased by&lt;br /&gt;
her husband Nov. 10, 1988, daughter Helen&lt;br /&gt;
in 1933 and all 10 of her siblings, she is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by her children John of Altona,&lt;br /&gt;
Man., Adolph of Three Hills, Alta., Abe of&lt;br /&gt;
Calgary, Mary of Winnipeg, Bertha Klassen&lt;br /&gt;

passed away Apr. 19. He was born May 8,&lt;br /&gt;
1950 to Neil and Anne Sherman in Bonneville, Alta. In 1954 the family moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Grande Prairie, Alta. He was&lt;br /&gt;
baptized at age 10. He married Polly Erickson in October, 1968, and they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Edmonton. He worked at&lt;br /&gt;
sales jobs and completed his&lt;br /&gt;
education. In 1972 they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Regina, where he&lt;br /&gt;
worked in computer systems.&lt;br /&gt;
Here he accepted Jesus as his&lt;br /&gt;
Lord and Saviour with full understanding. In&lt;br /&gt;
1978 he was transferred to Vancouver. He lost&lt;br /&gt;
his job, and the family went through very difficult times. He had very recently completed&lt;br /&gt;
training and become a qualified electrician.&lt;br /&gt;
He worked with the Gideons and Navigators,&lt;br /&gt;
was Sunday school superintendent and was&lt;br /&gt;
responsible for a men&#039;s sporting activity outreach. He is remembered as a devoted and&lt;br /&gt;
caring father for whom the physical and spiritual welfare of his family was of great concern. He is mourned by his wife; daughter&lt;br /&gt;
Debbie Janzen; son Clenton; and 2 sisters.&lt;br /&gt;
The funeral was Apr. 23 in Eagle Ridge Bible&lt;br /&gt;
Fellowship , Coquitlam, B.C., with Harry&lt;br /&gt;

Nettie Braun of Altona, Man. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Apr. 3. She was born Jan. 15, 1906 to Peter&lt;br /&gt;
and Elisabeth Dyck and was raised in Aliesova, Orenburg, Russia. She made her commitment as a young girl and&lt;br /&gt;
joined the MB church. She&lt;br /&gt;
ministered through singing&lt;br /&gt;
and playing her guitar. In&lt;br /&gt;
1926 she immigrated to Canada with her brother and sister. She worked as a housekeeper for the Peter Dyck&lt;br /&gt;
family in Winkler, Man. for 6&lt;br /&gt;
years, did homecare for elderly ladies in Manitou, Man. and Winnipeg,&lt;br /&gt;
took medical training and worked as a nurse&lt;br /&gt;
for Dr. C.W. Wiebe. She met George A. Braun,&lt;br /&gt;
who was conducting gospel services with&lt;br /&gt;
another man in Chortiz, Man. They married&lt;br /&gt;
in 1936 and established a farm home near&lt;br /&gt;
Altona. For 18 years in the winters they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Altona, where George taught in the&lt;br /&gt;
Bible school. She entertained many visiting&lt;br /&gt;
ministers and missionaries. Proverbs 10:7a&lt;br /&gt;
could be applied to her for her family life and&lt;br /&gt;
other services. Two weeks before her passing&lt;br /&gt;
she said, &amp;quot;Lord, I belong to you, and you&lt;br /&gt;
belong to me; nothing can separate us.&amp;quot; She is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by her husband, 3 sons and 2&lt;br /&gt;
daughters. The funeral was Apr. 6 in Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Altona, with Bernhard W. Sawatzky, Peter Krahn, Randy&lt;br /&gt;

Abe E. Olfert of Swift Current, Sask. passed&lt;br /&gt;
away Feb. 22 of lung cancer. He was born to&lt;br /&gt;
Daniel and Helena Olfert at Rhinefeld, Man.&lt;br /&gt;
They moved to McMahon, Sask. in 1919. In&lt;br /&gt;
1938 he was baptized and joined the Rhinefeld (Sask.) MB Church. His life was a continuous demonstration of his faith in God. He&lt;br /&gt;
met Mary Rempel at Bible school and married her in 1941. He farmed near McMahon&lt;br /&gt;
all his life, an occupation to which he felt&lt;br /&gt;
called and which gave him great satisfaction.&lt;br /&gt;
He is mourned by his wife; sons Edward of&lt;br /&gt;
Moose J aw, Sask., Lawrence of Drumheller,&lt;br /&gt;
Alta., Irwin of Lethbridge, Alta. and Michael&lt;br /&gt;
of Okotoks, Alta.; daughters Eleanor Schrag&lt;br /&gt;
of Swift Current and Linda of Regina. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was Feb. 26 in Bridgeway&lt;br /&gt;
Community Church, Swift Current, with&lt;br /&gt;
Peter Klassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Henry Siemens of Winnipeg passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Mar. 1. He was born Feb. 19, 1923 to Henry&lt;br /&gt;
and Katherina Siemens in Steinfeld,&lt;br /&gt;
Ukraine. In 1929 the family &lt;br /&gt;
immigrated to Boissevain,&lt;br /&gt;
Man. He became a Christian&lt;br /&gt;
at 11. He was later baptized&lt;br /&gt;
and joined Boissevain MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church. In 1944 he moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Vineland, Ont. He married&lt;br /&gt;
Katie Wall in 1948. In 1957&lt;br /&gt;
they moved to St. Catharines,&lt;br /&gt;
where he worked in the construction business until retiring in 1988.&lt;br /&gt;
They were members of Vineland, Scott St.&lt;br /&gt;
and Fairview MB Churches. In 1990 they&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Winnipeg. He is remembered as a&lt;br /&gt;
loving, devoted husband and father, seeking&lt;br /&gt;
always to do what was best for the family. In&lt;br /&gt;
his quiet way he tried to lead his family to&lt;br /&gt;
live their lives for God and encouraged them&lt;br /&gt;
to give of their time, energy and resources.&lt;br /&gt;
He was always involved in the local church&lt;br /&gt;
and its missions work. He is survived by his&lt;br /&gt;
wife; children Dennis of Prince Albert, Sask.,&lt;br /&gt;
Edwin of Altona, Man. and Lorraine Penner&lt;br /&gt;
of Elm Creek, Man.; 9 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 6 in&lt;br /&gt;
Elmwood MB Church, Winnipeg, with Isaac&lt;br /&gt;
Block and Abe Klassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Peter H. Dueck of Boissevain, Man. passed&lt;br /&gt;
away May 1. He was born Nov. 27, 1908 to&lt;br /&gt;
Heinrich and Maria Dueck of Blumenheim,&lt;br /&gt;
Molotschna, Russia. When he was 2, the family moved to a large farm at Kistendej. At the&lt;br /&gt;
urging of his brother Bernhard, he accepted&lt;br /&gt;
Christ and was baptized into Arkadak MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church. In 1926 the family immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada. After 3 years in Manitou, Man. and&lt;br /&gt;
1 year in Desford, Man., they moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Minto, Man. He spent several&lt;br /&gt;
years working on farms. He&lt;br /&gt;
married Annie Goertz Durksen June 19, 1937 and moved&lt;br /&gt;
to a farm at Minto. In the&lt;br /&gt;
1940s they moved to Boissevain and joined Boissevain&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church. He loved the fellowship, found great joy in&lt;br /&gt;
supporting the church regularly and had a heart for foreign missions. He&lt;br /&gt;
is remembered as a loving, faithful husband,&lt;br /&gt;
father and grandfather concerned with the&lt;br /&gt;
educational and spiritual welfare of his family. He was a gentle, frugal man who took&lt;br /&gt;
pride in his farm and his family&#039;s accomplishments. He enjoyed simple pleasures: his family, church, community and, in later years,&lt;br /&gt;
his garden. Predeceased by his wife Mar. 25,&lt;br /&gt;
1989, he is mourned by sons Henry of Boissevain and David of Winnipeg; daughters Kathleen Martens of Portage la Prairie, Man. and&lt;br /&gt;
Mary Anne Harms of Swift Current, Sask.;&lt;br /&gt;
10 grandchildren; sisters and brothers. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was May 4 in Boissevain MB Church,&lt;br /&gt;

Gerhard (George) Thielmann of Clearbrook,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C. passed away Apr. 26. He was born Sept.&lt;br /&gt;
14, 1909 to Gerhard G. and Helene Thielmann in Alexanderwohl, Molotschna, southern Russia. His father died in 1918. He was&lt;br /&gt;
saved from starvation by MCC. He was converted at 10 and experienced&lt;br /&gt;
several strong faith renewals.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1925 he immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Canada with the Abram&lt;br /&gt;
Epps. His mother died 5 years&lt;br /&gt;
later. His ambition was to&lt;br /&gt;
farm so he could serve the&lt;br /&gt;
Lord by ministering, preaching and teaching. He attended&lt;br /&gt;
Coaldale (Alta.) and Winkler&lt;br /&gt;
(Man.) Bible schools while working summers&lt;br /&gt;
on farms near Namaka, Alta. He married&lt;br /&gt;
Agnes Toews Apr. 27, 1935. He taught 8&lt;br /&gt;
years at Bethesda Bible School in Gem, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1942 they moved to Namaka to help on&lt;br /&gt;
father-in-law Aron A. Toews&#039; farm. In 1947 he&lt;br /&gt;
became founding principal of East Chilliwack&lt;br /&gt;
(B.C.) Bible School, serving for 10 years. He&lt;br /&gt;
also ran a farm and served in the preaching&lt;br /&gt;
ministry at East Chilliwack MB Church,&lt;br /&gt;
becoming pastor in 1950. In the late 1960s he&lt;br /&gt;
sold the farm and took more theological study&lt;br /&gt;
in Vancouver. He served as moderator and&lt;br /&gt;
assistant moderator of the B.C. MB Conference, as chair of MCC B.C. 1955-71, as a&lt;br /&gt;
member of the MCC Canada Board and on&lt;br /&gt;
many other conference committees. In 1969&lt;br /&gt;
he became pastor of Vancouver MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1978 they moved to Paraguay for 7 months&lt;br /&gt;
of preaching and teaching. They then retired&lt;br /&gt;
to Chilliwack, attending Broadway MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church. In 1987 they moved to Clearbrook.&lt;br /&gt;
He cared for Agnes and ministered to her and&lt;br /&gt;
other patients after she was hospitalized. He&lt;br /&gt;
preached occasionally and led Saturday&lt;br /&gt;
prayer services at Clearbrook MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
Terminal cancer was found in January, 1991,&lt;br /&gt;
but he was uncomplaining and grateful for&lt;br /&gt;
his care. Predeceased by 2 grandchildren, he&lt;br /&gt;
is mourned by his wife; children Walter,&lt;br /&gt;
Ervin, Herta Loewen, Victor, Elma Fiance,&lt;br /&gt;
Margaret, Betty Allen and George; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The&lt;br /&gt;
funeral was Apr. 30 in Clearbrook MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, with John E. Klassen, Jacob Pauls&lt;br /&gt;
and P.R. Toews ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Nicholas A. Langemann of Coaldale, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Apr. 11. He was born in 1913 in&lt;br /&gt;
Gnadenheim, Ukraine. When he was 13, the&lt;br /&gt;
family immigrated to a farm in Coaldale. He&lt;br /&gt;
married Hilda Rempel in Swalwell, Alta. in&lt;br /&gt;
1933. Both were music lovers, and music&lt;br /&gt;
remained a distinctive feature of their home.&lt;br /&gt;
He was initially a farmer, but later worked&lt;br /&gt;
for 2 dairies and an agricultural chemical&lt;br /&gt;
company. They lived in Coaldale, Chilliwack,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C., Illinois and Winnipeg. He is remembered as one who loved God and served his&lt;br /&gt;
church. During his 6 years as caretaker of&lt;br /&gt;
Coaldale MB Church, he beautified the&lt;br /&gt;
church with numerous trees, shrubs and&lt;br /&gt;
flowers. For years he served as an usher in Lakeview MB Church and College Drive&lt;br /&gt;
Community Church in Lethbridge, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
Their home provided a safe haven for people&lt;br /&gt;
from various ethnic backgrounds, for single&lt;br /&gt;
parents with various needs and for new&lt;br /&gt;
Christians needing Bible study groups to&lt;br /&gt;
grow in. He was a bird lover, a gardener with&lt;br /&gt;
an extraordinary commitment to plants and&lt;br /&gt;
trees, and a gourmet cook. He is survived by&lt;br /&gt;
his wife; children Rita Stobbe, Ralph, Sigrid&lt;br /&gt;
Schibler and Helen Masson; 6 grandchildren&lt;br /&gt;
and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral was&lt;br /&gt;
in Coaldale MB Church, with Henry Fehr&lt;br /&gt;
and Rudy Heidebrecht ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Helen Penner of Herbert, Sask. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Mar. 14. She was born Nov. 10, 1907 to Jacob&lt;br /&gt;
and Helena Toews. She attended school near&lt;br /&gt;
Greenfarm, Sask. and in southern Manitoba,&lt;br /&gt;
where her father was a teacher. She accepted&lt;br /&gt;
Christ and joined Greenfarm MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
She served faithfully as choir member, ladies&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
aid president and a support to her husband&lt;br /&gt;
and family. She married George Penner Oct.&lt;br /&gt;
23, 1927. They practised hospitality toward&lt;br /&gt;
friends, neighbours and particularly visiting&lt;br /&gt;
missionaries, speakers and conference delegates. They were farmers all their lives. She&lt;br /&gt;
particularly enjoyed tending the garden and&lt;br /&gt;
cooking. She made an art of mending and&lt;br /&gt;
loved farm animals. She moved to the senior&lt;br /&gt;
citizens&#039; home in September, 1983 and to the&lt;br /&gt;
nursing home in March, 1988, but she&lt;br /&gt;
retained her unique sense of humour and&lt;br /&gt;
undaunted faith. Heb. 13:8 was a favourite&lt;br /&gt;
verse. Predeceased by her husband, 1 grandson, 1 sister and 1 brother, she is mourned by&lt;br /&gt;
her children Norman, Velma Mierau, Jean&lt;br /&gt;
Bauer, Melvin, Lorraine Braun and Wes; 14&lt;br /&gt;
grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren .&lt;br /&gt;
The funeral was Mar. 18 in Herbert MB&lt;br /&gt;

Henry M. Heppner passed away Mar. 2. He&lt;br /&gt;
was born Dec. 10, 1895 to Anton and Pauline&lt;br /&gt;
Heppner of Laird, Sask. Six months later&lt;br /&gt;
they moved to the Springfield School District,&lt;br /&gt;
where he grew up. In 1914 he received the&lt;br /&gt;
Lord, was baptized and joined Salem&lt;br /&gt;
Krimmer MB Church. He married Agatha&lt;br /&gt;
Epp Oct. 30, 1917. Her parents moved to&lt;br /&gt;
Waldheim, Sask. and the newlyweds stayed&lt;br /&gt;
on the farm. In 1960 they joined Waldheim&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church. In 1963 they retired from the&lt;br /&gt;

June 8, 1972. He married Katherina Born at&lt;br /&gt;
Clearbrook MB Church Dec. 10, 1972. In January, 1984 he moved to Tabor Home, later&lt;br /&gt;
joined by Katherina. She died in March,&lt;br /&gt;
1986. He moved to Valleyview Hospital in&lt;br /&gt;
New Westminster, B.C. May 21, 1987 and to&lt;br /&gt;
Alouette Extended Care Unit in Maple Ridge,&lt;br /&gt;
B.C. June 4, 1990. Predeceased by 4 grandchildren, he is survived by sons Elmer, Art&lt;br /&gt;
and Wilfred of Waldheim, Clarence of Maple&lt;br /&gt;
Ridge and Harold of Waldheim; daughters&lt;br /&gt;
Margret Junkin of Peterborough, Ont.,&lt;br /&gt;
Mathilde Thiessen of St. Catharines and&lt;br /&gt;
Vonda Bergen of Saskatoon; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 sister.&lt;br /&gt;
The funeral was Mar. 7 at Woodlawn Funeral&lt;br /&gt;
Home, with J.E. Klassen and Henry H. Epp&lt;br /&gt;
ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Paul Schroeder of Clearbrook, B.C. passed&lt;br /&gt;
away Mar. 8. He was born Jan. 23, 1905 to&lt;br /&gt;
Henry and Jakobina Schroeder in Novosiad-&lt;br /&gt;
10, Poland. In 1925 he was baptized and&lt;br /&gt;
joined the MB church at Wymyschle, Poland.&lt;br /&gt;
He married Margarete Jantz Oct. 23, 1932.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1939 he was inducted into the Polish army&lt;br /&gt;
as a medic. He soon came home but was later&lt;br /&gt;
called up as a medic for the German army. In&lt;br /&gt;
1946 the family was reunited in Germany. In&lt;br /&gt;
1948 they immigrated to Uruguay. He tried&lt;br /&gt;
farming. They then moved to Montevideo,&lt;br /&gt;
where they served as deacons and house parents in the MB girls&#039; home. He worked as a&lt;br /&gt;
bricklayer and Margarete cared for the daily&lt;br /&gt;
needs of teachers and students at the Bible&lt;br /&gt;
school. They immigrated to Canada July 3,&lt;br /&gt;
1956. He worked at several jobs, including for&lt;br /&gt;
the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. until retirement. They belonged to Vancouver MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church, serving as deacons. When Culloden&lt;br /&gt;
MB Church was built, they transferred there.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1973 they moved to Clearbrook, joining&lt;br /&gt;
Clearbrook MB Church. He loved the Lord&lt;br /&gt;
and taught his children to love and serve&lt;br /&gt;
God. He is remembered for his prayers of love&lt;br /&gt;
to God. He enjoyed retirement, recovering&lt;br /&gt;
from 6 operations. He is mourned by his wife;&lt;br /&gt;
sons Walter and Herbert; daughter Edith&lt;br /&gt;
Neufeld; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 sister. John Klassen ministered&lt;br /&gt;
from Job 19:25-29 at the funeral.&lt;br /&gt;

Wally Finch of Richmond, B.C. passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Nov. 11. He was born May 26, 1930 in Vancouver. He was well over 6 feet tall. His deep&lt;br /&gt;
voice intimidated people, but&lt;br /&gt;
he was tender and sensitive.&lt;br /&gt;
He married Chris in 1959. In&lt;br /&gt;
1980 h e joined Alcoholics&lt;br /&gt;
Anonymous. His son was&lt;br /&gt;
saved through Youth For&lt;br /&gt;
Christ and began attending&lt;br /&gt;
church. Chris started going to&lt;br /&gt;
church with him. Then Wally&lt;br /&gt;
started attending Richmond&lt;br /&gt;
Bethel MB Church with them. He accepted&lt;br /&gt;
Christ and quickly became active in church&lt;br /&gt;
life. Soon his 2 daughters and their husbands&lt;br /&gt;
also made commitments and started coming&lt;br /&gt;
to church. In 1987 the family joined&lt;br /&gt;
Fraserview MB Church in Richmond. In&lt;br /&gt;
March, 1989 Wally and Chris became a deacon couple. He also sang in the chancel choir.&lt;br /&gt;
He suffered a massive heart attack just after&lt;br /&gt;
giving the opening prayer at a service for the&lt;br /&gt;
elderly in a local care home. He is mourned&lt;br /&gt;
by his wife; son Greg of Richmond; daughters&lt;br /&gt;
Carol Harke and Barbara Wilson of Richmond; and 2 grandchildren. The funeral was&lt;br /&gt;
Nov. 17 in Fraserview MB Church, with&lt;br /&gt;
Peter Nikkel and H.K. Harris ministering.&lt;br /&gt;

Michael Leonard Haum of St. Williams, Ont. died Mar. 22. He was born Jan. 7, 1975 to&lt;br /&gt;
Leonard Haum and Cheryl Clark. He&lt;br /&gt;
attended St. Williams Public&lt;br /&gt;
School and Walsingham Public School and was in his second year at Valley Heights&lt;br /&gt;
Secondary School. He was a&lt;br /&gt;
good student, interested in&lt;br /&gt;
attending college or university. On Mar. 22 he collapsed&lt;br /&gt;
suddenly due to a cardiac&lt;br /&gt;
tumour during physical education class. He attended Port Rowan MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church Sunday school, had attended Christian Service Brigade, was a member of the&lt;br /&gt;
youth group and had accepted Christ. He&lt;br /&gt;
loved skateboarding, snowboarding, collecting baseball cards and spending time with&lt;br /&gt;
friends. For the past 2 summers he had&lt;br /&gt;
worked at Kauk&#039;s cucumber grading station,&lt;br /&gt;
where he was admired for his enthusiasm,&lt;br /&gt;
hard work and cheery disposition. He is&lt;br /&gt;
remembered for his heartwarming smile, positive attitude in all areas and love for teasing&lt;br /&gt;
and clowning around. He is mourned by his&lt;br /&gt;
father; mother; stepmother Maxine; stepfather Ken; brother Brian; sister Shelley; half&lt;br /&gt;
sisters Vicki and Janet Haum; stepsisters&lt;br /&gt;
Laura and Jenny Clark; great-grandparents&lt;br /&gt;
Peter and Helena Teigrob; grandparents&lt;br /&gt;

Mary Kliewer of Saskatoon passed away Apr.&lt;br /&gt;
8. She was born Oct. 31, 1906 to Cornelius&lt;br /&gt;
and Agnes Kliewer in Henderson, NB. In fall, 1918 the&lt;br /&gt;
family immigrated to Hepburn, Sask., moving to Dalmeny, Sask. a few years later.&lt;br /&gt;
She received the Lord at 17,&lt;br /&gt;
when Jacob Thiessen held&lt;br /&gt;
evangelistic meetings in Dalmeny MB Church. She was&lt;br /&gt;
baptized Aug. 17, 1922 by&lt;br /&gt;
Jacob Lepp and joined Dalmeny MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
In 1952 she moved to Saskatoon, joining Central MB Church. She was active in the missionary prayer band for many years. In 1974&lt;br /&gt;
she moved to Central Haven Personal Care&lt;br /&gt;
Home. She loved her friends and is remembered for her special interest in her nieces&lt;br /&gt;
and nephews. Predeceased by brothers John.&lt;br /&gt;
Peter, Chris and Claus, sisters Ida Schmidt&lt;br /&gt;
and Nettie Woodward, 2 nieces and 1 nephew,&lt;br /&gt;
she is mourned by her twin sister Martha&lt;br /&gt;
Doerksen of Saskatoon and 13 nieces and&lt;br /&gt;

George Robert Friesen of Vauxhall, Alta.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Mar. 29 of cancer. He was born&lt;br /&gt;
Aug. 25, 1920 to George and&lt;br /&gt;
Maria Friesen in Steinfeld,&lt;br /&gt;
southern Russia. In 1926 the&lt;br /&gt;
family immigrated to Rosthern, Sask. In his early teens&lt;br /&gt;
he accepted Christ at Vacation Bible School. The family&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Coaldale, Alta. in&lt;br /&gt;
1935 and he began working&lt;br /&gt;
on a large sheep ranch. In&lt;br /&gt;
1939 the family moved to Vauxhall, Alta. He&lt;br /&gt;
was baptized and joined Vauxhall MB&lt;br /&gt;
Church in 1939, after having attended a&lt;br /&gt;
semester of Bible school in Coaldale. He&lt;br /&gt;
worked for a grain farmer until he could buy&lt;br /&gt;
his own farm in 1945. He married Katie&lt;br /&gt;
Rempel Sept. 29, 1946. He remained on the&lt;br /&gt;
farm until his death. His heart for God&#039;s work&lt;br /&gt;
was expressed through a lifetime of support&lt;br /&gt;
for Vauxhall MB Church and the community.&lt;br /&gt;
He was on many boards, including the Vauxhall Co-op, Gas Co-op, sugar beet board, vegetable marketing board and stock grazing&lt;br /&gt;
association. In the church he was chair of the&lt;br /&gt;
deacons council and sang at various functions&lt;br /&gt;
and in the choir. He is remembered for his&lt;br /&gt;
quiet trust in God, generosity, contentment&lt;br /&gt;
and acceptance of others. Predeceased by 1&lt;br /&gt;
brother, he is mourned by his wife; children&lt;br /&gt;
Esther Friesen of Beaverlodge, Alta .,&lt;br /&gt;
Lawrence of Aldergrove, B.C., Dorthy Friesen&lt;br /&gt;

David Paul Bergen of Clearbrook, B.C.&lt;br /&gt;
passed away Mar. 27, at age 91. He was born&lt;br /&gt;
to Isaak and Katrina Bergen in southern&lt;br /&gt;
Russia. In 1921 the family immigrated to&lt;br /&gt;
Saskatchewan, where they began a legacy of&lt;br /&gt;
attachment to the land. His innate mechanical abilities gave him many career opportunities. He and his wife Sara were baptized Aug.&lt;br /&gt;
22, 1954 and became active members of the&lt;br /&gt;
Rosthern (Sask.) Church. He is remembered&lt;br /&gt;
as a man of gentleness and quick wit. He only&lt;br /&gt;
truly retired when they moved to Clearbrook&lt;br /&gt;
in 1985 and joined Clearbrook MB Church.&lt;br /&gt;
He could not often attend church because of&lt;br /&gt;
his health, but attended Bible studies and&lt;br /&gt;
song services in Evergreen Village and made&lt;br /&gt;
many friends. He longed to go home and be&lt;br /&gt;
with his Lord. Predeceased by a sister and 2&lt;br /&gt;
brothers, he is mourned by his wife of 56&lt;br /&gt;
