This index includes both formal obituaries and news accounts of deaths. Accounts of deaths in the "Community News" section and its predecessors are not included, but deaths reported in the "Newton and Vicinity" section are included.
Entries consist of the person's name, year of birth or age in years and months, and the date and page of the issue in which the notice appeared. Women are listed under their maiden names and under all married names. Entries marked with an * are for maiden names. In some cases, husbands' names are listed in parentheses for clarification.
