Included on this page are descriptions for all photos that we have scanned, numbered, and documented. Most of these were done at the request of researchers rather than as part of any systematic photo scanning program, so the collection is pretty haphazard. Using this page will allow a person to do a textual search among the scanned photo descriptions. Clicking on a photo number will bring up a full screen version of the scan. Contact the archives for further information.

This version is text-only and leaves out the thumbnail images in order to load faster. If you want to see the thumbnail images, choose the other option from the menu.

In some cases you will see an image number repeated more than once. This is a side effect of having the same image in more than one file format (such as jpeg and tiff).

• Wang Hsi Tien was an evangelist, a teacher in the Presbyterian mission, who became a preacher when he joined the Mennonite mission; d. 1927 (shot by bandits while preaching outdoors. C. L. Pannabecker performed surgery, but Rev. Wang died.)
